A workshop on community organizing and engagement strategies for public health initiatives targeting the Latino/Hispanic community. Cover topics like building trust, identifying community needs, and mobilizing community members for action.

Learning Objectives:

  • Analyze how historical, systemic, and cultural factors shape health access and trust within Latinx communities.
  • Apply community-based participatory research (CBPR) principles to design and implement chronic disease initiatives with Latinx populations.
  • Use culturally responsive communication and engagement strategies to build trust and mobilize Latinx community members for action.
  • Develop an actionable plan to leverage community assets, partnerships, and local leadership in chronic disease prevention and management efforts.
